Race Course

Picture
The Brick Dash 5K race course started at 7 AM in the parking lot of the Legoland Florida Resort.

After a loop around the lot, runners entered the park going through different lands and the water park.

The Kids Fun Run began at 8 am. They ran a half mile course that began inside the park and ended at same finish line as the 5K runners.

Runners and walkers and strollers were welcome for both events. Runners complete the courses and return to the parking area before the theme park opens for regular business.

This was a fun way to take a look around Legoland. Perfect for scouting the park before spending the big bucks.

The race was a charitable event that promoted family wellness. All proceeds from the race go to Merlin's Magic Wand, a charity that helps children around the world.

Race Medal and Post Race Party

The 5K and Kids Dash finished in the parking log. There was ice cold sports drink, bananas, frozen fruit bars, and granola for runners. Music played on the sound system. There was plenty of room, some shade, and lots of portalets.

There was a guided cool down session before the awards. Runners could pose in front of a couple of picture spots, eat, and relax after the race.

After the races there was an awards ceremony. Age group winners received a Lego trophy.

Weather Report

68 degrees. 93% humidity. It was a gorgeous outdoor day for October. It was warm by the end of the race, but breezes from the lake and swimming pools plus occasional cloud cover, gave relief.  We left before 8:30 am.

There were several signs in the water park asking visitors not to run. We ignored them. LOL.

I did obey the "watch out for alligators and snakes" sign.
