Chocolate On Course and at the Finish Line
Enjoy a Festive Run Along Bayshore BoulevardCheck out my favorite photo from last year: Olaf Racers! There were lots of runners dressed up in holiday gear. The race course takes you all along Bayshore Boulevard with views of Tampa Bay and beautiful homes decorated for the season. This race always puts me in a holiday mood.
Did you hear the news? See the medal? Today (7/19/19) the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15K and 5K peeps announced a medal for 5K racers! That's right, starting with the 2019-2020 season, 5K runners will get a sweet medal. In the past, all participants received the HC15K jacket and a finishers cup filled with chocolate fondue. But, only 15K runners received a medal. Well, the folks at Ram Racing and the Hot Chocolate 15K & 5K heard the requests of 5K runners. They came through with a 5K medal! Take a peek below, then go sign up for the Hot Chocolate 15K or 5K near you.  The 5K medal looks like a cup of hot chocolate; the 15K medal looks like a chocolate bar. Besides the medals, the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K always puts on a great race with goodies on course, and the awesome finishers cup and swag shown below.  Every registered runner receives the SWAG jacket. Ladies cut is the navy/coral jacket on the left. Mens cut is on the right. Runners can choose either version of the SWAG jacket. The jacket has a hood and fleece lining. This is a fun and festive race that takes runners along Bayshore Blvd. just before Christmas. There are lots of decorations on the houses, and the runners. It's a scenic, fun run.
The weather has been perfect the past couple of years. But, it's Florida, so expect anything from a heat wave to a cold front. I enjoy this race because all the festive outfits help put me in the holiday mood. Plus, a 15K is a great way to burn off calories during the holidays. I'm not an ambassador this year, but I wanted to get the word out that 5K runners get a medal. If I come across a code for bonus swag I'll pass it along. Come to the Hot Chocolate Expo to pick up your packet, which includes a race day bib and goodie bag.
