My Virtual 5K for the Triple Crown of Running
The series starts with a 5K, moves on to a 10K, and finishes with the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15K.
The first race, the Chick-fil-A 5K Fitness Classic, was scheduled for Saturday, March 6. I couldn't run that day, so I headed out when it worked with my schedule. That's the beauty of a virtual race — you can run it when and where you want. The flexibility is really appealing to me.
I chose to run my first 5K around the neighborhood. It was a beautiful day (despite the pollen). There was plenty of pretty scenery during my 3.1 miles. I finished my race in front of an inflatable dinosaur dressed for St. Paddy's Day. Seemed about right to me! See pics below.
Next up is a 10K. There’s plenty of time to join me if you’re looking for some races and SWAG to keep you motivated. The cost to register for all three races is $66.
