Sidelined by Sinuses Means No New Review for 2017 First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon

​My apologies. A scratchy throat, two weeks before race day, turned into a raging sinus invasion that put me in bed for 10+ days. The infection derailed one of my favorite Spring half marathons: the First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon and Relay.
 
First Watch Sarasota Half would let me defer my entry until 2018 — but it would cost an additional $30. I decided to cut my losses.

While recuperating, I took advantage of blitz pricing and registered for the Best Damn Race Safety Harbor 5K/10K Challenge, AND the Florida Road Races 5K Triple Crown Challenge at deep discount prices. Woo hoo! That made me feel better right away.

Sidelined by a sinus infection, I missed the First Watch Sarasota Half on March 19. That mean no huge dolphin finisher medal for me this year.

​My next race is a fun and funky Hippie Dash 5K in downtown Gulfport that supports Goodwill. I’m looking forward to being fully recovered, and running the race with my daughter.
