What do you do with leftovers? I usually make quesadillas or chili, and call it good.

They put on a race!

The usual leftovers aren't as much fun as the Best Damn Race Leftover 5K.

Best Damn Race Leftover 5K

The Best Damn Race organizers came up with a clever way to use all the extra medals and shirts from their Safety Harbor, Jacksonville, Orlando and Cape Coral races. They're having their second Leftover 5K in Safety Harbor on Saturday, June 3.

Runners in the Leftover 5k choose from 10-15 different race shirts, and 20+ medals. 
Specific medals and shirt sizes aren't guaranteed, but organizers say right now they have plenty of everything. After the race there is a post race party with food and drinks.

The 2nd Best Damn Race Leftover 5K takes place in Safety Harbor, FL on Saturday, June 3, 2017.

Blitz Pricing!

Blitz Registration begins at noon on 3/29/17 at $9 for the first 500 runners. Pricing increases based on number of entries:
​·       1 – 500 = $9
·       501 – 1,000 = $13
·       1,000 – 1,500 = $16
·       1,500 – 2,000 = $19
·       2,000+ or Race Week = $25

New Medals and Shirts Added This Year

Along with previous bling, these new medals will be in the mix: the Cape Coral 2015 Life Preserver Medals, Jacksonville 2016 Surf Board Medals, Safety Harbor 2016 Stand Up Paddle Board Medals, and Orlando 2016 Flamingo Medals. (Go ahead and look them up on Instagram or Facebook. You're going to like them.)

New shirts this year are from Cape Coral 2016, Jacksonville 2017, Safety Harbor 2017, Orlando 2017, and New Orleans 2017 races. (I'm looking at you, New Orleans!)

Hurry Up and Register Already

I'm looking forward to this race for a few solid reasons:

• Their medals are some of the best bling around.
• I can run the 5k course before my 5k/10k challenge there next February.
• It's only $9.
• The medal and shirt will be a surprise.
