A few years ago, I found BibRave.com while searching for race reviews. I was so thankful for the info, I added my own reviews. While looking around the site, I discovered the BibRave Pro program and applied.
I've been a Pro for a couple of years, and can't wait to continue in 2020. BibRave is a fun community of active runners. Everyone shares info, advice, tips, and tricks on running, social media, and blogging.
If you're an active racer who likes to test new products you can apply online to be a 2020 BibRave Pro. Apps are open now through November 17.
What's a BibRave Pro?
BibRave Pros are racers and bloggers. We like to test new products and share our reviews with followers on social channels and the web.
Pros are passionate about all things running-related. We're advocates for the BibRave brand. We write race reviews and post them on the BibRave.com website to help other runners make informed decisions.
BibRave Pros are dedicated bloggers who want to grow their social reach and social media skills.
BibRave Pro Application Requirements
Here's what you need to join the BibRave Pro Ambassador Program:
What Products Do BibRave Pros Review?
The Pros test everything from apps to watches to headphones to clothing. One of my favorite products is the AfterShokz TrekzAir bone conduction headphones. OMG. They changed my running life. Now, I run through the city and can hear traffic and my music.
Below are just a couple of other products I've enjoyed testing.
Where Do BibRave Pros Race?
Thanks to BibRave I've enjoyed some fun races. Options include in person races as well as virtual ones. BibRave promotes races across the US, including Rock n Roll and Hot Chocolate series. Check out some current races and discounts here.
I ran the Scooby Doo Virtual Race Series with my friend, Copper.
BibRave Pro Perks
Yep! There are perks to being a BibRave Pro. You get to try new running products — sometimes before they reach the market. When you opt-in, you promise to test the product in exchange for an honest review.
Another benefit is free race entries. You promote the race and any discount codes in the months leading up to the event. Then on race day, you run for free. Boom!
Inside the BibRave community, you'll find encouragement and motivation from a variety of runners. My favorite part of BibRave is the range of runners. I've learned something from everyone. There's a steady stream of friendly advice on running, social media, gear, and blogging.
It's fun to meet up with other pros at races. I enjoy meeting people IRL that I've talked to online. Plus, BibRave hosts a weekly #BibChat on Twitter every Tues. at 8 pm ET. Join us each week for a lively running-related conversation and product giveaways.
My BibRave Pro Take Aways
I arrived late to running. But, I'm enthusiastic and want to learn everything I can. I spent 30+ years in Creative Services. I like that I now combine my love of running and messaging as a BibRave Pro.
Here's what I enjoy the most about the BibRave Pro ambassador program: The people are kind, smart, and industrious. It's a magical combination you don't find everywhere.
If you like to run and test new products, and share what you learn, apply to the BibRave Pro program.
If you have questions, shoot me an email or DM. You can find me @ThisOldRunner on Instagram or @ThisOldRunner on Twitter. I'm happy to tell you more.
You Can Always #AskABibRavePro
Another way to learn more is to search #AskABibRavePro on socials. You'll see what other BibRave Pros have to say about the ambassador program. Check out the races and gear they've tried.
Application Deadline is November 17
The deadline to apply is November 17. If you don't want to commit to being a BibRave Pro, be sure to check out the race review (and add your own) at BibRave.com!

I wanted to show you how the AfterShokz Trekz Air bone conducting head phones work — so I tried to take a selfie. But, I couldn't get the angle right. And I tried taking the photo A LOT. #SelfiesAreHard
Then, I saw this picture of a real AfterShokz model (wearing his hair in a bun). I had to ask, "Who wore the bun better?" Probably him. Definitely him. Still laughing.
At least you can see how the headphones fit over my ear and wrap around the back of my head. Despite my poor selfie skills, I want to tell you about these next level headphones! They're for any (every) workout where you're moving and sweating.
Disclaimer: I received AfterShokz Trekz Air to review as part of being a BibRave Pro.

AfterShokz are Bone Conduction Headphones
You charge the Trekz Air headphones with the power cord provided. AfterShokz says the charge will last 6 hours. I tested the length of a charge a couple of times by wearing them all day.
My headphones lasted for more than 6 hours. That means Trekz Air can keep you happy on your extra long runs.
What's in the Box: Headphones, Carrying Case, Ear Plugs, 2-Year Warranty, Power Cord
Along with your awesome headphones, AfterShokz gives you a 2-year warranty. Just register your headphones online and if anything goes wrong, you're covered. Well, if your dog eats your headphones, that's not covered, but everything reasonable is!
You also get ear plugs. If you're listening to your music in a safe place, put in the ear plugs to experience total bone conduction. You're gonna love the sound!
There's a soft and secure carrying case. It has room for your headphones, earplugs and power cord.
SAVE $55 OFF the BibRave TrekzAir Bundle when you use my code: "BRBundle"
There's a special deal going on now. If you want to try bone conduction headphones, now's a good time to get them.
You can order Trekz Air headphones in Canyon Red (like mine), Slate Grey, Midnight Blue or Forest Green. Use my code (BRBUNDLE) to take $55 off the bundle price of $204.95. You get EVERYTHING shown below for less than the cost of a pair Trekz Air headphones alone! Go get it.

If you're looking for a way to ease the heat during your Summer training, give this ice necklace a try. My new #BibRave BUFF® reminded me of one of my favorite hot weather hacks for runners.
A BUFF® is a knitted tube of technical fabric. There are lots of ways to wear a BUFF® to make it your own. Today, I'm using the kerchief style to create an ice necklace.
There's a video version of this advice on my Instagram account.
What Causes Blisters?
Sweat or Water + Friction = Blisters.
The friction culprit can be tight or loose shoes, puddles, a rough seam, thin socks, humidity, over-training, and extra miles. Clothing that doesn't fit snugly, or rubs as you run can cause a blister. Heck, you can get a blister from tying your shoes too tight.
Moisture (from sweat, rain or puddles) makes your skin soften. Softened skin is more likely to react to friction.
Tapes and Bandages
I received the new KT Tape® Blister Prevention Tape and KT Tape® Blister Treatment Patches to test. (There's a discount code below.)
So far, I've used the tape during races and training runs in the Florida heat and humidity. Last weekend I wanted to run a 5K in fairly new shoes. I was worried my shoes were still stiff enough to rub. It was going to be hot and humid, so I put KT Tape® Blister Prevention Tape on the back of my heels.
The conditions were perfect for blisters: 78 degrees + 94% humidity. The KT Tape worked like a champ. I was a sweaty mess at the finish line, but I didn't have any blisters! That's a win.
These new products from KTTape® for blister prevention and treatment come with travel cases. Nice touch! I took mine in my bag and put the tape on before the race. You can head off blisters by putting the prevention tape on prone areas. If you end up with a blister despite your best efforts, use the patch to avoid infection and speed healing.
